Become a poster presenter at Biomedica 2012!

  

Here are the steps to submit a poster at Biomedica 2012 - BIOFORUM Poster Session:

1. Online submission form mentioning:

• Your profile details
• Title of poster
• Summary of 400 words (max ½ A4), addressing the application of the results
• Max of 100 words indicating your potential for valorization

 

Note that the Jury will take the following criteria into consideration when ranking your poster during the Summit:

• Quality of research
• Indication of potential for valorization (short term & long term)
• Poster lay-out
• Explanation during the jury meeting

 

Posters promoting marketing and sales products will not be selected.

2. Notification of acceptance and registration

Poster submitters will be notified by 20 March.

If your poster has been accepted by the Biomedica scientific committee, you will be invited to register to the Summit benefitting from the waived registration fee. You are kindly asked to wait for the invitation to register, and not register on the website.  

3. Printing and format

Authors must take care of the printing of their poster and bring it along to the Summit.

Advised size: 1.20m (height) x 0.80m (width). Maximum size: 1.60m (height) x 0.90m (width). Portrait Layout.

We also advise authors to bring an electronic version of the poster in case they are selected for oral presentation.

4. Mounting and dismantling

Upon arrival at the Summit, you must first pick up your badge at the welcome desk. Attendants will assist you with locating the correct board and will supply tape. It is forbidden to write or paint on the boards.

Poster presenters must respect the following mounting and dismantling times:

Mounting:         April 18, 08.30 – 12.00          

Posters which are not displayed by April 18, 12.00 will not be considered by the Jury.

Dismantling:   April 19, 15.30 – 18.00            

The boards must be completely clean after posters are removed. You will be charged for any damages to your display panel. Any poster remaining after 18.00 on April 19 will be removed by the organisers who do not accept liability for lost or damaged posters.

5. Jury visit & poster presentation

The Jury, chaired by Dr. Moreno Galleni, will circulate and discuss posters on April 18, 12.30 – 13.45 (lunch break) in order to select 4 posters in each of the 3 categories hereunder. Authors must be near their poster in case of questions or selection during the visit. The authors of the selected posters will be asked to present their poster to the audience on April 19. If an author is not available to present his/her poster, it will be disqualified from the competition.

Biopharmaceuticals & Nutraceuticals:	April 19, 11.05 – 11.15 (2 authors) and 12.45 – 13.00 (2 authors)
Medical devices & Care:	April 19, 11.05 – 11.15 (2 authors) and 12.45 – 13.00 (2 authors)
Biomaterials:	April 19, 11.05 – 11.15 (2 authors) and 12.45 – 13.00 (2 authors)

6. Awards ceremony

The 2 best posters within each category will be called on stage during the Awards ceremony on April 19, 17.00 – 17.30. Each of the 6 winners will be granted a prize of EUR 500.
